Bologna construction
Bologna construction is one variation of Blake construction. The rear part of the upper is lasted in the standard manner using an insole, while the forefoot is constructed without an insole. Instead, the lining is sewn to the edge of the upper to form a tubular shape, leaving only the toe area open. A toe puff is inserted, that section alone is lasted, and the outsole is then stitched on. Because the forefoot is tubular, it provides a comfortable, enveloping fit. In addition, the absence of an insole gives the shoe excellent flexibility and makes it comfortable to wear. The method is called Bologna construction because it originated in Bologna, Italy.

→ Size 39 (24.5 cm) is quite tight. Size 41 (25.5 cm) is the perfect fit.

Staff C (low instep / narrow feet / dress shoes: 24.5 cm / sneakers: 25.0 cm)
→ Size 39 (24.5 cm) is the perfect fit. Size 40 (25.0 cm) is slightly loose.
