Horsebit loafers are characterized by the decorative bit (metal fitting) attached to the vamp. Inspired by equestrian hardware, they offer a sophisticated design and a rich impression. Bologna construction
Bologna construction is a variation of Blake construction. The rear part of the upper is lasted in the conventional manner using an insole, while the forepart is made without an insole. The lining is sewn to the edge of the upper in a tubular shape, leaving only the toe area open; a toe puff is inserted, that section alone is lasted, and the outsole is then stitched on. Because the forepart is tubular, it offers a snug, foot-enveloping fit. In addition, the absence of an insole provides excellent flexibility, making the shoes easy to wear. It is called Bologna construction because it originated in Bologna, Italy.
