Authentic ghillie shoes, rooted in traditional Scottish footwear, feature a unique structure without the quarters found on typical leather shoes. Instead, the shoelaces are wrapped around the foot to secure them.

We adapted these ghillie shoes into men’s leather shoes by adding quarters. This enhances their ruggedness and durability, creating a one-of-a-kind design worthy of Mon Model customers.

Goodyear Welt Construction
Goodyear welt construction is also synonymous with high-end men’s dress shoes. Rather than sewing the upper and sole together in a single step, the sole is attached using a “double-stitching” process in which they are sewn together in two stages. Because the shoes contain many components and require complex manufacturing processes, they have a substantial weight and sturdy construction. In return, they are highly durable and practical, and are easy to maintain, including sole replacement. The comfortable fit that gradually envelops the foot as the shoes are worn in is something that can only be experienced with Blake construction.
