Traditional ghillie shoes, rooted in Scotland’s heritage footwear, feature a unique structure without the quarters found on conventional leather shoes, secured by wrapping the shoelaces around the foot.

We adapted these ghillie shoes into men’s leather shoes by adding quarters. The result is a one-of-a-kind design with an increased ruggedness and durability, perfectly suited to Mon Model customers.

Goodyear welt construction
Goodyear welt construction is also synonymous with high-end men’s dress shoes. Rather than stitching the upper and sole together in a single operation, the sole is attached through “double stitching,” in which they are sewn together in two separate steps. Because the shoes require many components and a complex production process, they have a substantial weight and a sturdy construction. In return, they are highly durable and practical, with the added benefit of being easy to maintain, including sole replacement. The comfortable fit that gradually envelops the foot as the shoes are worn in is something only Blake construction can provide.
