Traditional ghillie shoes, rooted in Scotland’s footwear heritage, feature a unique structure without the quarters found on standard leather shoes. Instead, the shoelaces are wrapped around the foot to secure the shoes.

We added quarters to these ghillie shoes and adapted them into men’s leather shoes. This gives them a more rugged and robust character, creating a one-of-a-kind design worthy of Mon Model customers.

Goodyear Welt Construction
Goodyear welt construction is also considered the hallmark of high-end men’s footwear. Rather than stitching the upper and sole together in a single operation, the sole is attached using a “double-stitching” process in which they are sewn together in two stages. Because the shoes require many components and involve a complex manufacturing process, they have a substantial, sturdy feel. In return, they are highly durable and practical, and maintenance such as sole replacement is easy to carry out. The comfortable way they gradually conform comfortably to the foot as they are worn in is something that can only be experienced with Blake construction.
