Blake construction
Blake construction is originally a traditional technique from Italy’s Marche region, and most Italian shoes are made using Blake construction. In this method, the upper and outsole are stitched directly through together. Thanks to its simple structure, it provides flexible sole movement and allows even soft leather to be made into shoes.
As the shoes are worn in, they develop a distinctive fit that wraps comfortably around the feet—one of the unique characteristics of Blake construction. Because thin insoles and outsoles can be used, this method is known for its dressy, refined appearance, light weight, and flexible sole movement. As a construction method for making sophisticated luxury shoes, it maintains a unique position alongside Goodyear construction.
