Blake construction

Blake construction is originally a traditional technique from Italy’s Marche region, and most Italian shoes are made using Blake construction. This method involves stitching the upper and outsole directly through one another. Thanks to its simple structure, it provides flexible sole movement and allows even very soft leather to be made into shoes.
As the shoes are worn in, they develop a distinctive fit that wraps around the feet—one of the unique characteristics of Blake construction. Because thin insoles and outsoles can be used, this method is characterized by a dressy, delicate appearance, lightness, and flexible sole movement. As a construction method for making refined, high-end shoes, it maintains a distinctive position alongside Goodyear construction.
